Being a engineer by trade, the founder of Keen Edge Sharpening Mr Jacobus Pretorius has always had a passion for knives and tools and is a firm believer in "if you look after your tools they will look after you". His passion for tool maintenance and care finally gave rise to the founding of Keen Edge Sharpening at the beginning of 2020.
All sharpening is done by Jacobus himself and clients, can rest assured that your project will receive the necessary care and attention it requires.

Maintaining a cutting edge
At Keen edge Sharpening we strive to use methods that reduce tool wear and tear to a minimum while providing the sharpest edge possible.
It is for this reason that most of our sharpening is done using a mechanised water cooled wet stone grinding technique. This method of sharpening removes the minimum amount of steel thereby prolonging the service life of the tool while the constant water-cooling of the grinding surface ensures that the tools maintain the correct hardness without loosing any of its heat treatment.
